The 2026 Commercial and Canopy Solar Program (FY26 CCSP) is making $13 million in funding available for property owners in Maryland. Each property owner can receive a maximum amount of $500,000.
This program is expected to be highly competitive and funds are likely to be exhausted well before the program deadline of February 11, 2026.
There are a few more boxes your project must check before being fully eligible for the CCSP. See the additional requirements below:
Maryland Census Tract Eligibility: The Maryland Energy Administration (MEA) has provided a tool for businesses to quickly check if your proposed site location is eligible.
Access the Maryland Solar Incentive Eligibility Checker here. All you need is the full Maryland address.
Eligible Facility Types: The MEA also provides a comprehensive list of all the facility types eligible to receive these program funds. To learn more about these categories, you can check the Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) for the CCSP program. See the complete list of facility types below:
Further, these funds can be used to cover both Roof-mounted solar PV systems and Solar PV Canopies built over parking lots, parking garages, and even certain bodies of water. However, these canopies must also meet "EV ready" standards, which you can find more information on in Appendix A of the FOA.
If you would like some assistance confirming if your business site is eligible or would like to learn more about the Maryland CCSP, please email us at Steven.Kohn@onswitchenergy.com. We can help determine if your site qualifies and even provide a custom SkyQuote for the proposed project site that includes the saving you would receive from the CCSP.
